I really like the sound! I can imagine it could be very haunting in the right acoustic, or a beautiful accompaniment for voice in a smaller space. Can I check, how old is the original Sutton Hoo lyre? And it would primarily have been a minstrel instrument, is that correct? Would it have been played on its own with voice, or as part of a group?
Also, I have a new blog for early musicians and enthusiasts you might be interested in. Still in the early stages, but getting there!
